New Year's Weekend at the Beach

For New Year's weekend this year Hans and I spent the holiday on the Coast. To break up the drive we spent the first night with the pups at Hans' parents house on Woahink Lake outside of Florence. We had a nice relaxing evening and morning there and the dogs and I got a nice long walk in with a gorgeous view of the lake from the dock at sunrise!

On Saturday we went out to breakfast in Florence and then headed to Yachats to meet up with our friends, Barbara and Rick, and my Mom at their beach cabin. We spent our afternoons playing the board games Settlers of Catan and Lords of Waterdeep.

We also took a number of long walks on the beach with the dogs, and Link thoroughly enjoyed his first venture to the beach and did great off leash for the first time! He herded Winston up and down the coastline and made several long walks of 3-4 miles.

From the deck off of Barbara and Rick's cabin we had an awesome view of the ocean and caught some amazing sunsets there!

We toasted the New Year with glasses of Prosecco on the deck listening with the ocean in the background lit up by a nearly full moon. It was a weekend to remember filled with fun with our family, friends, and puppies. A great way to kick off 2018!
