On the third weekend in January Hans and I had a mini vacation in Bend with our new puppy, Link. We stayed with Hans' wonderful aunt and uncle, John and Karen, on Friday night where Link got to meet their two sister Dachshunds, and Link found himself a new puppy girlfriend after just one night ;).

The next morning, after a delicious breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants in Bend, McKay's Cottage, we took a long walk along the river path and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Later that afternoon we checked into our awesome corner king suite at Tetherow Resort just outside of the city. The room was complete with a gas fireplace, large bath with walk-in shower, and a wonderful balcony with a view of the golf course.

The main outing of the trip, however, was when we took Link to the lower trails at Mt Bachelor to go snow shoeing for the first time. He loved the snow and played like crazy as we explored the area around the base of the mountain. He proved himself to be a true snow dog, and we will definitely be taking him on more winter snow adventures in the near future!

After a big day we came back to our lovely suite and played a game of Agricola: Creatures Big and Small while we watched the sun set on the golf course. That evening we had a scrumptious dinner at The Row, the restaurant at the resort, which included an arugula salad with candied yams and grilled chorizo, kimchi lettuce wraps, and scotched eggs. We felt truly spoiled with such good food and a wonderful weekend getaway. Can't wait to go back to Tetherow and get pampered again!
