Tiny Trailer, Big Adventures

To kick off the 2019 "glamping" adventures in our little trailer (aka “Falcon/Dove”), we headed over to Yachats for MLK weekend.  We found a great spot right on the ocean at Sea Perch RV Resort.

The first night we had crazy wind and rain that even shook the trailer, but we hunkered down and put on our favorite show, Frasier, while listening to the storm.  The next morning we got to enjoy some nice weather and sunshine as we sipped our coffee with the ocean view.

We were able to get out and give the dogs a short walk before the rain headed back our direction.  Afterwards we picked up our new board game of choice, Agricola, and took advantage of the large trailer table to build our farms and feed our little wooden families.

As the day wrapped up, my parents and Gr. P came down to join us for dinner at our favorite coastal restaurant, The Drift Inn.  We split an amazing set of crab cakes, and encrusted halibut.  Our dinner guests went a little more traditional as they all ordered what they referred to as the best razor clams on the coast.

Back at the trailer we had an extra hand making the bed for better or worse, however he may have called it finished well before the bed was actually made...

The next day we found a stretch of beach even Dag could tackle with her crutches, although she did have to cheat a little with special crutch adapters.  Link had no complaints as he got some much needed Frisbee time.

We even had an opportunity for the traditional Selfie!

After we had our beach time we met up with our good friends, Barbara and Rick, at Yachats Brewery for the first time.  It was great catching up with them and hearing how life with their new puppy, Stella, was going.  Dag and I also got into trying a variety of of beers ranging from sours to stouts.

After a few drinks we said our good-byes and headed back to the Falcon/Dove to make some custom camping pizza in our toaster oven.  We went with Dag's gourmet recipe of Balsamic Pear .

As dinner was wrapping up, Dag took the opportunity to work on her many NYT puzzles, and was able to dominate the ones involving words.  We worked together and were able to solve "Building Blocks" before bed.

The next morning it was sad to see the weekend come to an end, but the sun was out making for easy pack up of our site.  We hooked the trailer up and headed back to the valley on a sunny Monday morning.
