Snopocalypse 2019

One Sunday evening Dag and I went to bed thinking we would not see real snow this year. The next morning we woke up to 7" of snow covering our yard. As the morning progressed we capped out at over a foot! Stuck at home for the day, we couldn't wait to make the best of it.

Since Dag is still recovering from ankle surgery she did not feel ready to tackle skies, but she couldn't wait to break out her snow shoes. We geared up after a hot cup of coffee and were ready to hit our local fields to play.

I broke out to ski through the front yard making fresh tracks. It took just a short loop to get my snow legs back and was ready to break trail for the team.

Linkers and Dag followed up on my tracks and Link quickly remembered how much he loved the snow. However he seemed nervous to break off from any pre-groomed trail.

That fear seemed to disappear as soon as the frisbee was thrown for the first time. The snow was deeper than Link's short legs but he did not seem to mind as he soon built his own path.

Unfortunately not the entire clan was enjoying the snow. Little Winston did not like to venture out to the powder, but we couldn't blame him as the snow was deeper than he was tall, so I ended up shoveling a path in the grass for him to travel down.

While we were sad to see the snow melt over the next week and a half, it was fun while it lasted and made for some fun walks in the snow on the year we were not able to make it to the mountains.
