A Little Riverside R & R

To kick off the summer, we decided to take it super easy for our first outdoor adventure of the season with a relaxing weekend on the McKenzie River, renting a little cabin at McKenzie Riverside Cottages just an hour drive from home.

Unlike many of our normal packed short trips around Oregon, this weekend getaway consisted of lazy mornings and afternoons relaxing on the deck right outside our little living room.

Even Linkers took a break from being a hyper Aussie puppy to lounge in the sunshine!

Of course no relaxing weekend of ours would be complete without some quality board gaming time, and Hans and I raced along the course of the Tour de France playing our new favorite game, Flamme Rouge. We enjoyed multiple games while watching and listening to the river flow just outside the large living room and kitchen windows.

While spending majority of the time completely relaxing at the cabin, we did venture out Saturday evening for a quick trip up the pass to Clear Lake. The weekend flew by, but proved to be one of the most relaxing trips we've taken, and we came home feeling completely recharged and ready for more summer adventures!
